Strategic studies encouraged on sustainable energy system

CAS President LU Yongxiang listened to reports on the roles of the accelerator driven subcritical system in nuclear waste disposal and a conception on nuclear hydrogen production during his visit to the CAS Institute of High Energy Physics on 12 December in Beijing.


    CAS President LU Yongxiang listened to reports on the roles of the accelerator driven subcritical system in nuclear waste disposal and a conception on nuclear hydrogen production during his visit to the CAS Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) on 12 December in Beijing.

    Prof. Lu encouraged IHEP researchers to actively take part in the development of China's sustainable energy system. He noted that as a national strategic S&T taskforce, CAS should render fundamental, forward-looking and strategic support to the construction of the system and play an exemplary and leading role in the drive. "Arrangement should be made in advance on research directions with major significance," he said.
